Preparation For A Photo Shoot

Your property needs to look its best to ensure a successful shoot and  it is important the following is prepared prior to shooting.

 

GENERAL

  • ​Open all doors and windows

  • ​​Clean windows

  • ​​Turn all ceiling fans off​

  • Mop and polish hard floors

  • Replace all burned out lights bulbs

  • In each area/room, all bulbs must be of the same type and wattage – i.e. all incandescent bulbs or energy savers with the same colour temperature

  • All soft furnishings should be neatly arranged and fluffed

  • Clear out the clutter

  • Remove all personal photographs

  • Hide small electronic devices, telephones, remotes, etc.

  • All curtains must be hanging properly on hooks and all blinds must be level

  • Place flower arrangements throughout your home as needed – preferably white, yellow or light pink

 

GROUNDS & GARDENS

  • Clean Pool

  • Pool furniture to be arranged neatly with cushions and towels

  • Remove all gardening equipment, pool vacuum/cleaner and hoses

  • Arrange outdoor tables or chairs with cushions - Props such as a colourful jug of juice with glasses could be placed outside on a table

  • Cut the lawns 4-5 days before the shoot

  • All dead tree limbs to be removed

  • Remove leaves from lawns and pathways

  • Turn on pool fountains

  • Remove kid's toys: cars, balls, frisbees, etc

 

DINING ROOM / DINING AREA

  • Clear the table and polish the top

  • Transform your dining room table with fun and colorful table accents OR set the table for lunch

  • Straighten all chairs and space them evenly

  • Remove child seats and boosters chairs

 

LIVING ROOMS / VERANDAS

  • Fluff and arrange furniture pillows

  • Remove kid's toys

  • Remove personal photos

  • Tidy magazines and papers

 

BEDROOMS

  • Make all beds neatly with straight spreads and dust ruffles. Duvets tucked in

  • Remove clutter from top of dressers and night stands

  • Hide electronic device, telephones, notepad, tissues, etc

  • Press bed linens and bed skirts

  • Remove cots and cribs

 

BATHROOMS

  • Clear countertops

  • Leave out only clean towels hanging neatly

  • If complimentary toileteries are supplied, please have new items available to place in the photo.

  • Remove floor mats, dustbins and toilet brushes

  • Put toilet seats down

 

KITCHEN

  • Clear and clean countertops 

  • Polish appliances and faucets

  • Clear the refrigerators of magnets, photos, ads, papers, etc

  • Hide garbage bins

  • Sink must be clean and shiny

  • Place a few appliances on the countertops (coffee maker, blender, microwave, toaster, etc.)

  • Clean the exterior of the cabinets, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher

 

 

FRONT EXTERIOR

  • Remove all vehicles from driveway and front of home
